I looked up online to find out which type and I found it to be the Harris Hawk. Though the internet tells me they don’t come this far north, but I’m sure that’s what it was. Large, dark and definitely a hawk.

Over the past few days I’ve watched what certainly looks like a black hawk – at least it’s color is all black – gliding around alone and together with a more common red-tailed hawk.
I read that black hawks aren’t in this range. Is this something of note?
